We understand the gap. That age after finishing high school and off to college or training at Sheppard Air Force Base where you can’t yet go to the bars and some venues, but still want to have a night life and some fun. Downtown Wichita Falls Development has compiled a list of activities and business that support that under 21 gap.

8th Street Coffee House
Great contemporary spot that is good for studying or hanging out with friends. Whether you need caffeine or to tame a hungry stomach, 8th Street Coffee House has got you! They have a great breakfast and lunch selection on top of their specialty coffee drinks. Staff recommendation: Hazelnut Slut to drink and Gobbler to nom.

9th Street Studios
This artist space features a variety of art exhibitions year-round. You will also find a small corner stage for readings, classes & live music. Check out the calendar to see what exhibit is up.
Backdoor Theatre
Backdoor Theatre is nonprofit community theatre that produces several shows a year and also has an Improv troupe that holds shows and improv workshops.

Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market
Open every Saturday morning. Get in season produce straight from the farmer! The market also features several vendors that sell anything from artisan breads to woodworking. Definitely a Saturday morning destination and a great way to start the day downtown.
Half Pint Taproom & Restoration Hall
This restored building offers charm with a mix of industrial vibe. The patio features fire pits and Jenga. When it comes to getting some ‘za you won’t find anything like Half Pint’s! Pulled straight from the brick oven and several options to try! Staff pick: Pistachio Pesto Pizza

Iron Horse Pub
One of Texas’ top live music venues, the Iron Horse Pub is legendary! Usually reserved for those over 21 but check their calendar as 18+ shows do come up. They also have a couple pool tables to play a few rounds with friends.
Kemp Center for the Arts
This 1917 building was originally built as Wichita Falls’ first public library at the request of Flora Kemp to her husband Joseph Kemp. It now features 3 galleries, a sculpture garden, and a full schedule of art classes and programs.
Maniac’s Mansion

Video games + cereal! Need we say more? No, but we are! Arcade games, consoles, RPG, or even classic board games. Whatever your style Marcus at Maniac’s Mansion has something for you! Plus, a wall of changing cereals, hard to find limited releases, and fun combos to devour!
Museum of North Texas History
New to the area? The museum is a great place to learn about the history of our area. Some of their permanent collections entail the area’s military and oil/ gas history, a collection of 500 cowboy hats from area legend Nat Fleming.

P2 – The Deuce
A Wichita Falls staple going back for many decades! Did you know that the old bar used to be a stag bar? Don’t know what a stag bar is? Well, let’s just say they didn’t start allowing women in the old bar until the late 70’s. Whatever you do don’t play rap music on the jukebox. Enjoy a famous steak on garlic on the patio during the summer and check for live music on weekends.
Stage 2 Dinner Theatre
Located across from the iconic Wichita Theatre, you will find more productions geared towards adults. Murder mystery dinners, comedy shows, and also be on the look out – both theatres will post on their social when auditions open for shows.
Stone Oven Pizza
Hot pizza hand crafted from their stone oven with some flair. They go above and beyond being creative with toppings on some dough. They also hold open mic nights and host comedians. Staff recommendation: S.O.S and get enough of the good sauce
The Duck Coffee Co.
Dedicated to sourcing from fair trade sources and roast in house. On top of some amazing coffee they also offer crepes, bagels, and gelato. A great place to read or bring a laptop to get some work done. Staff recommendation: Raspberry truffle latte with sweet cream
Weightless
Not an ordinary gym. Weightless has classes with bungees, trampolines, aerial silks, and yoga. A fun and different way to get that heart pumping. Staff recommendation: Yoga Nidra, held the first Friday of the month. Great way to reset and let go of stress while curled in a silk hung from the ceiling
Wichita Falls Art Association
An every changing gallery that features work from their members. They also hold classes for artists to learn more about the business side of being a successful artist. There is a discount for student members.

Wichita Falls Brewing Company + Progress Pizza
Even though you may not be able to drink their beer…. yet. Don’t miss out on this place. Community tables set the great vibe, trivia nights, board games, and the home of Progress Pizza. They also have a great root beer on tap. Staff recommendation: Fig and prosciutto pizza
Other Fun
- Find the Mane Event painted horses while taking a self led tour through Wichita Falls.
- Bring down your bike and hop on the Circle Trail. 23 miles of paved trail that circles the Wichita Falls area. Drop on the trail by MPEC.
- Hop on a GOAT WF e-scooter and check out the murals around downtown and a get good sense of the district!
- Grab a selfie at the WFTX sign at Park Central for the gram.
