City Nature Challenge 2024

March 27 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

The City Nature Challenge (sponsored by the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum/ Los Angeles County) is an annual friendly competition between cities across the globe. Local residents get outside, make observations, and upload them to iNaturalist of local wildlife, plants, and other living organisms in their community during the days of April 26 through April 29. These organisms are identified so that scientists can learn more about the biodiversity of an area and how people coexist with wildlife. Wichita Falls is the base city for the Rolling Plains region of Texas (including Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young counties of Texas). For more information, please contact Lynn Seman at rlynnseman@gmail.com. This is locally hosted by the Rolling Plains Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist.
