Arts For All Community Mural Unveiling

The Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State and Downtown Wichita Falls Development are pleased to announce the dedication of the Arts for All Community Mural.

 

The mural has been installed on the south exterior wall of the historic Zales building on Ohio Avenue between 8th and 9th streets. The public is invited to attend the dedication ceremony on Saturday, June 24, 2017  at 4:30 pm during the Art and Soul festival in downtown Wichita Falls. 

 

Anne Farley Gaines of Chicago, who has completed several collaborative urban mural projects, orchestrated the design. Special thanks to Museum Program Director Mary Helen Maskill, Bundy, Young, Sims & Potter, Inc. and Cummings Construction, Inc. for their direction of construction and installation of the mural.  More than 500 local artists, students, and participants of all ages contributed to this mixed-media mural honoring Wichita Falls. The title and theme of the mural is “Blue Skies, Golden Opportunities, Red Sunsets.
